The installation of the frame kit is most easily achieved in new construction. If you are remodeling you will first have to make sure you are not going to dismantle a load bearing wall to insert the frame kit. You can frame a pocket door into a load bearing wall the same way you would frame any opening. you must use the properly sized header for the width of the opening and make sure that the weight is transfered to the foundation or whatever is under that load bearing wall
